The Chemistry I students from the 9 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday class experimented with different types of slime and chose which type they would be able to sell.
Five groups presented their projects to instructor William Bryan and a panel of judges — Rusty Tuman, computer information system instructor; Patti Beard, director of student support services; and volleyball assistant coach Alana Rowland.
After tasting and playing with the five groups’ slime projects, the judges chose the best two groups. These groups were awarded a basket of snacks and the highest number of bonus points. The teams were challenged to test their slimes,
The EdiSlime group, Alex Brooks, Jenica Moore, Chelsi Valdez and Jose Del Real, placed first with their edible slime. While the Brazilian Company came in second with its slime stress-balls and candles. The members of the second group were Ivan Michelli, Luis Cabizuca and Fabiola Wisnesky.
The groups were to take into consideration testing, price, packaging, ingredients and demographics.
