Victoria Bangs provides a visual learning experience for beginning English students. Most of the students speak Spanish but Bangs doesn’t allow it to be spoken in her class, in an effort to get as much English practice as possible. One of the best ways for beginner students to connect a meaning with a vocabulary word is by acting it out or using pictures. There are three levels of English offered at the Colvin Adult Learning Center — basic, intermediate and advanced.

Most athletic teams at SCCC are made up of international students. The volleyball and tennis teams are made up of more than 80 percent students from other countries.  Livia De Pra, volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, Juan Gonzales, tennis player from Argentina, Yanlis Feliz, volleyball player from Dominican Republic, and Mesalina Severino, volleyball player from Dominican Republic, are all new to Liberal.

Getting tested for STDs may save you from experiencing serious health problems in the future. Syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia and trichomoniasis are currently the only ones that are curable.
