Changes under way for tennis coaching staff

Changes are on the way for the Saints and Lady Saints tennis programs. Jerry Thor and Molly Lentini will no longer serve as head tennis coach and assistant tennis coach respectively.

Tennis duos place at ITA Nationals

The last time Saurombe took the court at Nationals he was alongside teammate Alejandro Gonzalez and this time around he had Felipe Casares next to him as they went up against some of the best in doubles.

Former college president dies

Dr. Dale Gibson, president of Seward County Community Junior College from 1969 to 1974, died Saturday, Aug. 9, following a brief illness. He was 81. During Gibson’s years at SCCJC, he oversaw the building of the first campus.

Kowalchuk checks in as coach for Razorbacks

Christian Kowalchuk has a few baseball firsts. Two are the first and only Saskatchewan baseball player to play in a NCAA Division 1 baseball College World Series(2009), and also, first and only Canadian to date to coach baseball for the Arkansas Razorbacks of the Southeastern Conference, one of the premier conferences in all the nation. Kowalchuk is currently a full time assistant at the University of Arkansas.

Baseball rebounds after tough losses

The first doubleheader against the Saints rival, Garden City Busters on March 15 ended swiftly as JB Olsen lead the Saints to a win for the key conference doubleheader opener. In the series finale, Seward County takes control and steals the game 6-5, winning the series against Garden 3-1.
