Medical Billing and Coding students doubting the government’s deadlines

I’m a Medical Billing and Coding student. I joined the program that is expected to be done in one year and a half with only 45 credit hours. Due to the government-created mess that is related to ICD-10, three of my coding classes were pushed back to the next semester twice, which means I will be spending two and a half years for what should have been a one and a half year coding program.

Band, choir practice for concert

The Seward band and choir winter concert will feature mostly Christmas songs at the performance 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Showcase Theater. “This year’s choir is doing great. They have eaten through everything. There are more music readers so they are learning things very fast and they sound amazing”, said Magda Silva, vocal music instructor.

Behavioral science instructor Katy Redd returned to her classrooms last week. It was after midterm, but it was the first time she’d seen her Seward students since the first several classes in August. Redd had missed seven weeks straight, and some of those weeks she can’t even remember because she was hospitalized and in an intense battle to overcome West Nile Virus.

‘Fun and Games’ theme hopes for win-win on scholarships

“Fun and Games” is the theme for the 20th annual party auction on Saturday, Sept. 20. This annual party auction will take place at Seward County Event Center, Liberal Fairgrounds.
