Grant Glaze and Thayna Silva smiled and stood together for pictures after being crowned king and queen on homecoming night Saturday. Glaze represented the Crusader newspaper while Silva represented ISO. The two were selected from a group of students who were picked to represent organizations and clubs for the homecoming title. Glaze and Silva were the two representatives out of the top 10 with the most votes.

It was evident that the Saints were ready to bring home a win Wednesday night. It was no problem for Seward to jump ahead with the lead against Colby 11-1.

The local Enactus group is working on a “legacy project,” using the name of E-closet for a area being renovated in the old dorms on campus. The project is, in part, to collect business attire for women interviewing for jobs.

The last time Saurombe took the court at Nationals he was alongside teammate Alejandro Gonzalez and this time around he had Felipe Casares next to him as they went up against some of the best in doubles.

During the Ozfest tournament, the encouragement and support from the Lady Saints to one another could be seen as the team came in for a huddle to celebrate points gained and lost. A new level of intensity and drive began to emerge during the game-filled weekend as Seward closed off its last matches for the month of September.

The past week of competition for the Lady Saints has been a complete turn around from the previous weeks. With three wins and only one loss under their belts, Seward’s new record for the season is at standing of 18-12.

They’re not sisters but they’ve known each other long enough to know one another just as much. Paula Lopez (right) and Paula Coyos (left) are both from the same town, Tucuman, Argentina, and have known each other for eight years. According to Coyos, they have the same first name, the same classes, they’re roommates, they’re tennis partners and they pretty much spend 24 hours a day together.

Manufacturing Day was a chance for the drafting and design department to show off their new addition to the program. Their new 3-D printer has been attracting a lot of curious wanderers and Steve Merz, drafting and design technology instructor, as well as his students, were more than happy to walk anyone through the process of their new “toy.”
