Crusader Sports

The Saints jumped out to a quick lead but lost it in the second half. Turnovers played a big factor. The Saints had to come from behind, erasing a 13 point deficit, to get the 81-77win over Cowley College, Jan. 30 in the Green House. The win improves the men to 1-1 in the Jayhawk West Conference.

The Saints took a 40-34 lead into the halftime locker room.  Cowley controlled the opening 10 minutes of the second half and took the lead, 45-44.  That lead just kept building until midway through the second half, Seward began to make stops igniting a little offense. They managed to cut the lead to 69-64 with 6:28 to play.  A Erik Pratt shot in the lane gave the Saints a 76-74 lead with :57.5 to play.  The two teams went at it, tossing in bucket-for-bucket but the Saints managed to keep the upper hand until the buzzer.

The Saints shot 50 percent from the field but committed 26 turnovers.
