The 22nd Annual Seward County Community College Foundation Party Auction will be held at the Seward County Event Center Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. The foundation holds this event to raise money for scholarships and grants. Students can also attend the event.

Tickets are $30 and are only sold in advance. Anyone 21 and older can purchase tickets online or in person. Tickets are available at First National Bank (Main & Walmart branches), Community Bank, Scantlin’s Furniture & Carpet, Mortgages Unlimited, Al Shank Insurance, Heritage Real Estate Group, KSCB, Seward County Community College and from SCCC Foundation board members and auction committee members.

Child care will be held by the SCCC Dance and Cheer Team at a cost of $5 per child. For entertainment, there will be live music and drawings. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the same time the silent auction begins. Dinner will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and live auction will begin at 8 p.m.

A list of the items being auctioned can be found online. Tami Doll said, “We like to encourage people to donate something they want to show off.”

Items vary from vases donated by arts student Carlos Hernandez to University of Kansas tickets donated by Katy Redd. Furniture Mart donated an item from the Magnolia Home collection. Pizza Hut contributed a tailgate party for one of the Liberal High School’s football game.

Doll also mentions that there are people who go out and think about the auction and have in mind to buy items to donate. She mentions that her friend was on a river cruise and got to buy some glass blowing items by Rolf Schrade. “It is a very pretty piece,” says Doll.

The support of the community is greatly appreciated. SCCC Foundation helps support student scholarships and programs. For more information call (620)-471-1131 or visit go.sccc.edu/auction.
