The Lady Saints beat Colby Community College on Feb. 2 with a score of 3-1 after their recent tournament. After a tough weekend of playing nationally ranked opponents, the Lady Saints fell from being third to the number 10 spot in the nation. The win against Jayhawk West Conference opponent, Colby, softened the blow a little.

The match against Colby began with both teams playing neck to neck, staying within two points of each other. Until Seward pulled ahead and won the first set with a score of 25-19.

The second set started just the same as the first until Colby slowly started pulling away point by point. Then, SCCC Coach Geno Frugoli called a timeout to get the Lady Saints back on track. The break almost worked as Seward started working the ball well but Colby still stayed ahead and took the second set with a score of 25-20.

By the third set, the Lady Saints were back in focus and were able to close the third set with a 25-14 win over Colby.

This win makes the Lady Saints undefeated in conference play and in a three way tie with Butler Community College and Garden City Community College.

The Lady Saints will play at home in the Green House on Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
