Social media portraying Ebola as a laughing matter is sick

October 27, 2014
Social media has shown us its sick side over the past couple of weeks. As I have scrolled through Facebook or down my timeline on Twitter, I have seen nauseating parodies of a deadly disease that has caused heads to turn with a case that surfaced in Dallas, Texas, with patient Thomas Eric Duncan, after he came back to the United States from Africa.
Making friends the smart way

Making friends the smart way

October 27, 2014
College is a fun, new, and exciting experience, surrounded by what seems like a million new faces. Moving somewhere far from your friends and family and out of your “comfort zone” to a new environment without the daily interactions you have known all your life makes most people nervous.
Safety comes first

Safety comes first

October 27, 2014
Due to my two night classes and a 22 credit hour semester, I spend more time at the college than at home, especially in the evenings. I often find myself walking out to my car in a darkened parking lot alone. It almost sounds like a horror movie setup, and some nights it can feel that way.

October 8, 2014
With Halloween approaching fast, the pressure of finding a good costume grows more and more, and in my search for the perfect costume, I have come to find a rather disappointing experience.

Students lack knowledge concerning current events

October 8, 2014
College students are often perceived by older generations as lacking in a field of current events. The Crusader conducted a survey of 92 Seward County Community College/Area Technical School students dealing with subjects on politics, entertainment and sports to understand what levels of knowledge students have concerning current events.

Barriers can block relocation success

October 6, 2014
Major reasons that immigrants choose to relocate to the United States include an increase on their economic status, better job opportunities that are accompanied with extra money, and lastly but most commonly known, chasing that unattainable dream.
