Professional soccer player now a professor

Myron Perry is currently in his second year as a teacher at Seward, but his background is different than the normal path of a college professor.

Homecoming 2015 will be Feb. 14, and voting for homecoming king and queen from the top 10 candidates will be next week.
Magaly Guerrero is currently a freshman at Seward County Community College. She is a cheerleader and is a resident from Liberal, Kansas. Magaly plans to transfer back to Wichita State University to major in integrated marketing communications. While attending Wichita State Magaly was involved in student activities council,President of LAT.IN.A, and a mentor of the office of diversity. Magalys hobbies include running, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Many of us are seeking to graduate and get a college degree, whether it be an associates, bachelor’s, or master’s. But how great does having free community college sound? Or does it even sound that great to taxpayers at all?

Spring musical joins Shakespeare and ‘Star Trek’

Award winning musical “Return to the Forbidden Planet,” which organizers say will include an “8 foot octopus and a robot on rollerskates,” will be presented by the Seward County Community College theatre department.
A young man known as Olanrewaju Hassan, also called Blaq by some is from Lagos state in the western part of Africa Nigeria precisely. Hes in the United States on a F-1 visa (student visa). A driven and motivated young man. He attends Seward County Community College/ Area Technical School. Enrolled during the fall semester of 2013 to study Business Administration, and later changed his major to study Corrosion Technology. Hes been in the U.S. for less than two years.  He came into the country through OHare airport Chicago, and spent three weeks with some family friends in Chicago before moving to Liberal, Seward County, Kansas. Olanrewaju is passionate about life, he loves watching and playing soccer, like traveling and going to new places. Olanrewaju also love smiling, and making people feel good about themselves. Hes respectful of people and does not like imposing his opinion on others. In spite of the fact that many sees him as a shy individual, he prefer to see himself as being reserve and avoiding drama. The fear of the unknown is one thing that keeps him motivated and grounded.

I have known Olatunde Olasunkanmi for several years. We lived in the same local government (County) Amuwo Odofin. Olatunde and I were not close friends, but I have always admired him as a person. He has an awesome personality, which is why I respect him a lot.

Olatunde Olasunkanmi is from the western part of Nigeria, Osun state, in faraway Africa. He later moved to the commercial city of Nigeria, Lagos state, where he got his high school degree. Olatunde is a loving, humble, and a church-going individual.

Business instructor Lisa Kennedy thanked the board of trustees at Monday night’s regular meeting for a professional development grant that enabled her to complete her master’s degree from Fort Hays State University. Kennedy also reported on a community outreach project sponsored by ENACTUS, the student business and entrepreneurship group that she supervises.

College transforms into Trick-or­­-Treat Street, breaks attendance record

Lions, tigers, bears, even dinosaurs and many other costumes were seen at this year's Trick-or-Treat Street. The doors of SCCC were flooded with children and parents waiting in line for their turn to go through the student union to receive their candy.
