Phonathon calls for volunteers, offers prizes to fundraisers

The sixth annual Phonathon will be on March 23 through April 10 with two volunteer shifts every weeknight from 4:30 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. in room AA137 with 30 phones available.
Magaly Guerrero is currently a freshman at Seward County Community College. She is a cheerleader and is a resident from Liberal, Kansas. Magaly plans to transfer back to Wichita State University to major in integrated marketing communications. While attending Wichita State Magaly was involved in student activities council,President of LAT.IN.A, and a mentor of the office of diversity. Magaly's hobbies include running, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

The Board of Trustees of Seward County Community College met on March 2. The meeting included a presentation from Sustainable Agriculture Resources Program Specialist David Coltrain, a performance review of the Title V Grant, as well as adjustments to student housing rates and tuition and fees.

Grant Glaze and Thayna Silva smiled and stood together for pictures after being crowned king and queen on homecoming night Saturday. Glaze represented the Crusader newspaper while Silva represented ISO. The two were selected from a group of students who were picked to represent organizations and clubs for the homecoming title. Glaze and Silva were the two representatives out of the top 10 with the most votes.
