It’s no lie that everyone likes food. But do you know the food native to southwest Kansas? There is an opportunity. Seward County Community College inclusivity committee and the library are offering a chance to taste dishes from all over.

As part of Kansas’ birthday on Jan. 29 there will be a potluck. Regional favorites include Cinnamon rolls and chili or chicken noodles and mash potatoes. Authentic Mexican food is part of our area. Liberal is home to many citizens from around the world and their national dishes will also be included.

“Everybody everywhere eats, food is the universal love language. It’s good way to get to know each other and celebrate Kansas birthday and represent what is good about Kansas” Rachel Coleman, executive director of marketing and public relations director at SCCC, said.

“Everyone is welcome to attend whether they bring a dish or not, just come and eat” Coleman said.

The potluck will take place at the SCCC library on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 11 a.m to 1:30 p.m.
