The Lady Saints traveled to Hutchinson in seek of vengeance on the undefeated Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons after a 61-62 loss earlier in the season. Their vengeance turned into embarrassment with a 51-73 loss on Feb. 25.

After losing to Hutchinson in a nail biter on Jan. 28, Seward hoped to tie the record with Hutchinson at 1-1 for the season. The first half showed promise as Seward trailed 31-41 to Hutchinson going into half time.

The Blue Dragons were able to hold Seward down in the second half though. At one point they held a lead of 34 points over the Lady Saints.

Turnovers have been a key contribution to Seward’s most recent losses. Wednesday night the team committed 13 turnovers and only stole the ball from Hutchinson six times in the 40 minutes of play.

The Lady Saints struggled with shooting with a 28.1 percent shooting percentage. They only scored on 16 of their 57 shots in field goal range on the night while letting Hutchinson shoot at 45 percent.

Seward County will be in action on Feb. 28 as they play host to Neosho County Community College for game one of the 2015 Region VI tournament. Tip off is at 4 p.m.
