Mark reaches 100 RBIs this season

Seward County sophomore and first baseman Stephanie “Steph” Mark has received recognition yet again for her accomplishments. She has successfully made 100 career RBIs, which is something only she and four other Seward players have done. She also went 4-4 in the second game of the twin bill and helped the Lady Saints win their match against Lamar.

Saints look to finish the 2012-2013 season strong

This has been a season of peaks and valleys for Saints baseball. Right now the Saints seem to be reaching another one of those peaks.

The Lady Saints have had a lot of games in the past month, including a trip to Phoenix, Ariz. during Spring Break. Their latest match was against Colby where they ended in a two game split. Colby won the first game 10-0 and the Lady Saints took the second 17-0. Both game were blow outs due to weak pitching from both teams.

With a round of unique handshakes in a specific order with her teammates and the tune of “Headstrong” in her head, Brittney Rachelle Sharkey is ready for the game. This “California Girl”, is a sophomore this school year, and a pitcher and infielder for the Lady Saints softball team. Recently Sharkey attained the title of Best in the West from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

Lady Saints hold back Cloud County

The Lady Saints faced Cloud County in the Green House Monday night. The Lady Saints defeated Cloud County 54-57, and are 9-3 in the Jayhawk West and 18-7 in the season. The win over Cloud allowed the Lady Saints to be tied with Garden City’s Lady Broncobusters.

Saints baseball brothers: Nelsons join forces for Seward

Deven Nelson, 21, and Jorden Nelson, 19, are brothers from New Mexico who are playing on the Seward County Community College Saints baseball team.
The Saints played the Colorado Kings in the Green House Saturday and defeated the Kings, 88-82.

Cory Patton, Kim Ortega, Martin Lewis and Melvin Sanders are just a few of the many. The SCCC/ATS athletic department is constantly producing elite talent in a wide-range of sports. This year’s volleyball team has found itself a rising-star with almost unlimited potential on the court.
