Anticipation has built as the Seward County Lady Saints softball season openers have been postponed due to weather conditions in the Midwest.
The Lady Saints will start its season at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa at 2 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.
“It’s a good thing I’m already married to the game,” said outfielder Andrea Sitter from British Columbia.
If the team had a choice, the game would have taken place the day it was scheduled, but if it has to be on Valentine’s Day, Sitter said they will be bringing home some wins that day.
A team that genuinely cares for each other is a strong asset to maintain as they look into playing well for one another on the field.
“I think we’ve got a really great shot at a regional title this year. The whole team is working so hard and were all so excited to be playing together. We’re all meshing together and working for each other,” said Sitter.
As the Lady Saints await Valentine’s Day to start off their double header against Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, they are looking forward to the future wins that they will be bringing to Seward County.
The double header against Pratt scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Pratt has also been postponed until Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. due to weather.
