The Lady Saints softball team will begin its 2015 season Friday, facing a weekend full with games. On Friday, they will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to play against Seminole State College, Ranger College, and Midland College. On Saturday, the Lady Saints will play Galveston College and Hill College.

Petersen pursues starting position

A new player for the Lady Saints softball team is freshman Grace Petersen. Petersen is from Wheat Ridge, a suburb of Denver, in Colorado where she played at Holy Family High School. Her senior year she had some impressive statistics hitting .522 with 28 RBIs. This helped the team out to placing third at the state tournament for Colorado. Both her junior and senior years, Petersen was an All-Conference and All-Colorado pick.

Lady Saints enter Region VI tourney with winning streak

The Lady Saints softball team has really hit it off this season, winning nine out of 11 games since April 12. Seward will enter the Region VI Tournament with a seven-game winning streak on Saturday in Garden City.

Softball Lady Saints beat No. 1 ranked team in country, Butler

Lady Saints softball claimed a quality victory for the program in the bottom of a double header when they defeated Butler, the No. 1 ranked team in the country, by a score of 7-1 on April 3.

When cancer isn’t right, pitcher goes left (handed)

Katelyn Craker is a sophomore who plays as a left-handed pitcher for the Lady Saints softball team. She has played more than 50 innings and has more than 50 strikeouts. She was named KJCCC Pitcher of the Week in April of 2013.

Seward County Lady Saints softball team held their home double header games against Northern Oklahoma-Enid  on Wednesday and ended the day with two solid wins, 2-1 and 9-1. The softball team will head to Frank Phillips today for a double header.  The Lady Saints are off to a strong start with a 13-2 record.

Anticipation has built as the Seward County Lady Saints softball season openers have been postponed due to weather conditions in the Midwest. The Lady Saints will start its season at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa at 2 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.

Lady Saints struggle with last games of the regular season

The Lady Saints played their last home game of the season Sunday against Otero, and played No. 1 Butler on Monday. The Lady Saints played four games in two days and went 1-3, only beating Otero 4-3.
