Lady Saints Swept by No. 1 Blue Dragons

The Lady Saints traveled to Hutchinson in seek of vengeance on the undefeated Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons after a 61-62 loss earlier in the season. Their vengeance turned into embarrassment with a 51-73 loss on Feb. 25.

Kyndal fires up Lady Saints

Kyndal Davis is midway through her sophomore season as a Lady Saint basketball player at Seward. Since she stepped on campus last year she has been a key factor in a highly competitive team. Last year it came as the team’s sixth man. She thrived in this role as if she had done it her whole career.

Lady Busters escape injury but not defeat

The Lady Saints and the Lady Busters were originally scheduled to play January 21st, but the game was cancelled a couple of hours before the teams were supposed to take the court when a semi hit the Garden city bus bringing the Lady Busters to their game.

Tamara Seda jumps up for the tip-off against Hill College on October 31. The Lady Saints went on to beat Hill College 66-51. Seda ended the night with five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and nine points. The Lady Saints will continue play against South Plains College on Friday and Midland College on Saturday. Games begin at 6 p.m. in the Greenhouse.

Lady Saints off to perfect start of season

The Lady Saints basketball team is off to a perfect start to the season at 3-0. This weekend will give the Lady Saints a chance to improve to 5-0 and keep alive the hot run they have started. They will face South Plains College on Friday and Midland College on Saturday. Both games will start at 6 p.m.

All Good Things Must Come to an End: Lady Saints fall to Barton in regionals

The Lady Saints season came to an end earlier than they had hoped with a loss to Barton, 61-56 in the second round of the Region VI playoffs. The Lady Saints ended the season with a great record of 26-6, and won second in the Jayhawk West conference.

Janel Tammen is forward for the Seward County Lady Saints. She is a sophmore from Timkin, Kansas, where she attended Otis Bison High School. She led her high school team to the Sub-State Championship game.

In Wednesday’s game against Pratt, Hatchard came off the bench, and led Seward in scoring with 11 points.

Lady Saints earn home court advantage for Saturday playoffs

February 27, 2014
The Lady Saints were able to grab second place in the Jayhawk West Conference, falling behind first place Hutchinson. In the last conference home game Wednesday, the Lady Saints defeated Pratt 72-54. The Seward Lady Saints have secured themselves a home advantage for the first round of the Region VI playoffs and will play at the Green House at 6 p.m. Saturday.
