Margarita "Rubi" Gallegos is a freshman majoring in Digital Photography. She was born in Tierra Blanca, Guanajuato, Mexico and has lived in Liberal for 14 years. She graduated from Liberal High School. Her favorite things to do include spending time with family and hanging out with friends.

Patrick Blanc is from Haiti. He graduated from SCCC last year but uses the campus library to take classes with Fort Hays. Whenever, there is some free time Blanc enjoys reading reality books. Blanc said, “I don’t like fantasies books because they are fake.”

Abby Lovato, a SCCC student and Liberal resident, participated in the Last Chance Race. This is the traditional race depicting a woman running from her house to church after she realized she was late. Liberal competes every year with their sister city, Olney, England. The town with the fastest time is named champion for the year. Lovato placed  sixth.
