The 2020 Grammy Awards are set to air on Jan. 26 on CBS at 7 p.m.

For Laurens to regain entry into the United States as a minor, he needed a document from his dad for permission. This document was not easy to obtain. Everytime Laurens would go see his dad, he would be working or somewhere else. The lack of cellular service restricted good communication for the two, which made it almost impossible to get on the same page. However, Laurens’ father came through by meeting him at the bus station holding with the permission document.

Liberal prepares to host one of the largest cultural events in Southwest Kansas, the Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Amy Zeledon is an 18-year-old senior at Liberal High School, and a concurrent student at SCCC. She has been involved in Book Club, Redskin Band, Student Council, Varsity Bowling, and National Honor Society. Zeledon plans to attend SCCC as a science major. She then plans to transfer to Wichita State University to receive her bachelor’s degree and later apply to the Physician Assistant Master’s Program. Some of Zeledon’s hobbies include photography, playing the saxophone and piano.

Brown also spends her time working 2 jobs, as a waitress and a sales associate in Liberal, KS.

For fun, she loves photography, singing and traveling. Her family is from Chihuahua, Mexico. She is proud to be a Mexican- American because of the opportunities she has been given and being able to share her culture with others.
